Hi, I’m Nu.

I’m a writer, speaker, consultant, coach, and creator of wellbeing-centered tools. Most of my work comes back to one question: How do we build lives that actually nourish us?

I became interested in that question because I learned what it feels like to build a life that looks right and still know something isn’t right.

At one point, I had the career, the marriage, the home, the plans. I was working in corporate wellness while experiencing migraines for three months straight. At the same time, I was beginning to admit that I had participated in creating a marriage and a life I could no longer see myself in. Eventually, I left both.

That decision began a much longer education in listening to myself.

A few years later, I sold and gave away nearly everything I owned in Phoenix, including my car, and left with what could fit into two suitcases and a box I mailed home. I spent more than a year living in different cities and countries, trying to figure out where I wanted to plant myself next. I revisited New York and New Jersey. I booked a one-way ticket to Europe. I was convinced I might move to Portugal, only to get there and realize it wasn’t quite right for me.

Then, because life has jokes, I met a man in Portugal who eventually invited me to visit him in Canada. I went for a month. I stopped wanting to date the man and started wanting to live in his country.

So much for certainty.

Toronto gave me the mix of city, nature, diversity, community, and ease I hadn’t known how to name. I even made peace with winter. Somewhere in that season, I realized that while my decisiveness has launched me, my curiosity has led me. I trust myself enough now to question what I’m sure about, change my mind, and let life show me possibilities I didn’t know enough to plan for.

That has changed the way I understand wellbeing, too.

These days, nourishment is much less abstract. I cook meals based on whatever I feel inspired to make that week. I take 30-minute naps in the middle of the day, and I mean that seriously—they have become part of how I work. I prioritize relationships where I feel seen. I make room for rest, prayer, movement, nature, writing, laughter, and time to hear myself think.

I’m not interested in using a vacation, spa day, or weekend off to recover from a life that chronically drains me. I’m interested in organizing life differently.

That doesn’t mean my life is frictionless. I’ve had friendship breakups, changed relationships with family, revisited old hurt, set boundaries and learned to hold them lovingly. I’ve also become far more willing to be known for what I actually think. I write, publish, speak, and use my voice in ways I once found much scarier.

I am still becoming. But I trust myself differently now.

And that matters in how I coach.

I don’t believe my job is to tell another woman whether she should leave the marriage, take the sabbatical, quit the job, move across the country, start the creative project, or finally set the boundary. My work is helping her create enough space to hear herself clearly, tell the truth about what she wants, understand what is getting in the way, and decide what she can actually live with.

Sometimes that results in a huge decision. Sometimes it doesn’t. The goal isn’t disruption for disruption’s sake. The goal is a life in which your wellbeing gets a vote.

Professionally, my work draws from years in coaching, learning and development, facilitation, and organizational wellbeing. I’m a Certified Professional Coach, an accredited Enneagram practitioner, and a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education. I bring those tools with me, but I’m less interested in fitting people into a framework than using the right questions, observations, and tools to help them see themselves more clearly.

These days, people call me Nu. At first it was a name. Now it feels more like an embodiment of who I’ve become: more rested, more curious, more honest, more open, more willing to change, and much more protective of the life I actually want to be living.

I am a nourished woman. And I help other women figure out what nourishment requires of them.

If you’re in a season where your life looks one way but something inside you keeps saying, Girl…no, you may want to read about Six Months With Nu.
